WANDERER ASTRO MOTORIZED FLAT PANEL V4-EC 240mm

The WandererAstro WandererCover V4-EC Motorized Flat Panel 240mm is an ASCOM-controllable flat field generator which can be permanently mounted to the front of your telescope. With a uniformly bright panel with 255 steps of adjustable brightness, the WandererAstro flat panel makes taking calibration frames simple.

The V4-EC version of the WandererCover improves on the previous design with the addition of a 12V DC input port, added power & USB indicator lights, soft pads to protect the telescope tube from scratches, plus a built-in encoder. This encoder provides real-time and accurate feedback on the position of the cover, allowing users to remotely monitor the status of the panel.

This encoder also provides reliable automatic detection of the opened and closed position, as well as automatic detection of obstacles. Repeatable positioning accuracy is higher than ±0.25 degrees.

The V4-EC also features a new motor which increased the payload by more than 50%, ensuring durability and preventing gearbox damage. The new dimming controller increases the PWM dimming frequency by double, reducing the occurrence of banding. Also added are built-in heating elements with three levels of heating to keep the cover free from dew.

The motorized flat panel is made from carbon fibre and aluminium alloy, making it lightweight yet durable. The motor features a mechanical stop to prevent over-extension and is self-locking when power is off, keeping your optics covered. The panel has an opening range of 270 degrees and is secured to the front of your telescope with the included nylon zip straps.

The luminous diameter of this panel is 240mm, but it is recommended to size up. For example, a telescope with a dew shield diameter of 240mm should purchase a larger panel such as the WandererCover V4-EC Pro 280mm. 

Note: The panel must not be manually moved, otherwise damage may occur to the motor. The motor will automatically stop in case of contact with obstacles such as dovetail bars or the telescope tube.
