QHY Q-FOCUSER ELECTRONIC FOCUSER
QHYCCD
QHY Q-FOCUSER ELECTRONIC FOCUSER - Standard is backordered and will ship as soon as it is back in stock.
The QHYCCD Q-Focuser is a precise, lightweight electronic focus motor compatible with many telescopes on the market. It is available in either standard or High Precision versions.
The Standard version is designed to be installed on the coarse adjustment knob of the telescope's focusing mechanism, like most focusers available in the market. The High Precision version is installed on the fine-focus adjustment knob.
Most electric focusers use a motor and reducing gears, and once installed on the telescope manual focusing is no longer possible. The High Precision Q-Focuser is equipped with a non-reducing motor, allowing it to be manually adjusted even after installation, without the need for a power connection or a clutch switch.
Another advantage of High Precision Q-Focuser is that it allows the entire system to achieve almost zero backlash. Backlash calculations involve the entire focusing system, including the focus motor mount, not just the electronic focuser itself. Backlash will exist if there are mechanical gears in the focusing system. Since the High precision Q-Focuser uses a non-reducing motor (i.e. no mechanical reduction gears) the added backlash from the motor is almost zero.
The Q-Focuser features several mounting holes which provide a variety of installation options. Unlike mounting plates with fixed hole positions, the Q-Focuser adopts a flexible structure where the mounting can be freely adjusted to achieve the best compatibility with your telescope.
The Q-Focuser can be powered by either 5V USB-C or 12V DC (for heavier loads). In most cases, the 5V USB-C is sufficient. Both versions of the focuser support an external temperature sensor (included). A manual hand controller will be available in the near future, allowing easy operation without the need for a computer.
The Q-Focuser supports both Windows (using ASCOM drivers) and Linux systems, with basic functions such as movement, custom positions, limit switches, torque maintenance, temperature, etc. available in the ASCOM driver.

Installation
Step 1: Remove the precise or coarse adjustment knobs (depending on which version of Q-Focuser you have) from the focuser mount of your telescope, and install the coupler to the focusing bearing.
Step 2: Install the long mounting plate on the focuser body and fix it with screws.
Step 3: Connect the motor shaft of the electronic focuser to the telescope’s focusing bearing through the coupler.
Step 4: Adjust the installation height and secure it tightly with small mounting plates and screws.
