The ToupTek G3M178C Planetary Colour is a 1.25" barrel size planetary camera using the Sony IMX178 CMOS sensor. With a quantum efficiency of >81%, read noise as low as 1.4e- and 2.4µm pixels, the G3M178C is an ideal camera for high resolution imaging of the moon and sun with medium focal length telescopes.

 


The G3M178C's back-illuminated sensor has good UV and NIR sensitivity, making it possible to use IR-pass filters to cut through the atmosphere and bring out finer details.

Note: in order to attach 1.25" filters to Touptek G3M series planetary cameras, you must use the included 1.25" barrel extender. The standard CS adapter does not have the necessary M28.5 filter threads.

 

 

The G3M178C is equipped with USB 3.0 connectivity as well as a traditional ST-4 autoguiding interface.Thanks to the high transmission speed of USB 3, the 178C can reach a fast 60FPS at full resolution. The built-in 512MB DDR3 memory ensures reliability over long sequences of high framerate video capture. Its 1.25" barrel design also makes it straightforward to use with most off-axis guiders (OAG not included).
