TAKAHASHI TOE 52° EYEPIECE 3.3mm

The Takahashi TOE 3.3mm eyepiece provides a 52 degree undistorted flat field, with the highest possible sharpness and control of aberrations. Whether used on Takahashi telescopes or other high end instruments, the TOE eyepieces provide performance closest to the diffraction limit.

Takahashi TOE eyepieces were specifically designed for high magnification observation of the Moon and planets, with 10mm of eye relief for optimal comfort. Takahashi assessed the optical performance of TOE eyepieces when matched with a TOA-130 refractor, which resulted in a Strehl ratio of 0.98 across the entire visual spectrum and over the whole field.

The Smyth lens of the first group and primary lens of the final group have been designed to minimize chromatic aberration, spherical aberration, field curvature and astigmatism. Each optical surface features broad-spectrum multi-layer coatings, with additional specialized coatings on surfaces which require the colour balance to be corrected and contrast increased. Ghosting and internal reflections are minimized, allowing high contrast views of the Moon and planets.
