The Losmandy bar 915mm belongs to the PLUS system (Prima Luce Universal System) that includes a large variety of telescope rings, bars, guide rings and dovetail clamps. Being 915mm long, this bar is ideal for mounting the ALTO Flat Panel Motor in combination with the GIOTTO as a motorized telescope cap.

 

 

Note: Bar shown in above photo is the 645mm version.

The bar has a system of slots, drilled and threaded holes that maximize the compatibility between parts, allowing several mechanical combinations and assembly solutions.

Each component of the PLUS system is carved from aluminium blocks that are CNC machined. Then, the aluminium is sandblasted to achieve a very smooth surface finish and is anodized (hard anodizing) to increase the hardness of the material and to protect it from oxidation.

Due to its particular design, the Losmandy 915mm PLUS bar can be:

  1. Positioned below telescope rings.
  2. Installed below a DSLR camera (connection screw not included).
  3. Installed above the support telescope rings to increase the mechanical rigidity of the telescope (and it allows you to attach other accessories such as guide rings).
  4. Used in long OTAs to allow you clamp the ALTO cover motor and use GIOTTO as a motorized telescope cap.

 

Compatible with the following Schmidt-Cassegrain telescopes with the PLLSAG925 adapter platesCelestron C8, C9.25, C11, EdgeHD 800, 925, 1100 or Meade SC and ACF 8".

The 915mm bar can be used to connect the GIOTTO + ALTO to either the Celestron 9.25" or 11" OTAs when using the Celestron aluminium dew shield.
