The new iOptron HEM27EC is an incredibly portable hybrid harmonic drive mount, weighing only 3.7kg and boasting a payload capacity of 13.5kg without needing counterweights and 20kg with the addition of a 4.5kg counterweight! The EC version includes a high resolution encoder on the RA axis for accurate unguided imaging.
Utilizing modern harmonic drive (strain wave gear) technology for the RA axis and backlash-free belt-driven worm gear on the DEC axis, the HEM27 is capable of unparalleled weight to payload efficiency.
The mount is completely CNC-machined and anodized for strength, lightness and durability. The mount is equipped with an electronic friction break and power down memory, allowing the mount to safely stop and resume slewing or continue tracking even after sudden power loss.
Note: The HEM27EC does not include a tripod. You can purchase the iOptron Carbon Fibre Tripod separately.
