BAADER SOLAR CONTINUUM FILTER 540nm 7.5nm
Baader Planetarium
BAADER SOLAR CONTINUUM FILTER 540nm 7.5nm - 1¼" is backordered and will ship as soon as it is back in stock.
The Baader 7.5nm Solar Continuum filter is designed for high resolution solar observation and imaging of the photosphere.
Warning: The Solar Continuum Filter may be used for purely VISUAL observation ONLY in conjunction with the Baader Herschel Prism or with the Baader AstroSolar Safety Film OD 5.0. For photography, you must use AstroSolar Photo Film OD 3.8.
The filter has an 7.5nm half-bandwidth around 540nm. As the blue and red ends of the spectrum are excluded, the finest surface detail and granulation in the photosphere can be captured. This is particularly noticeable in refractors and SCTs, where the optics are sharpest at this wavelength and free of chromatic aberrations. Compared to the previous 10nm version, this new filter has much more contrast and gives comparable performance to the previous double-stacked 10nm continuum filters.
Available in either 1.25" or 2" mounted. All Baader filters (excluding 100 x 100mm) come in stackable labelled filter boxes which can be attached to each other to form a sturdy filter library. The 7.5nm Solar Continuum filter is included as standard with the new Baader Herschel Prism Mark II.
