BAADER O-III 9nm SUPER-G FILTER
Baader Planetarium
BAADER O-III 9nm SUPER-G FILTER - 1.25" is backordered and will ship as soon as it is back in stock.
The Baader Oxygen III 9nm Bandpass filter is specifically designed for visual observation of planetary nebulae and supernova remnants under bright skies as well as imaging with colour CCD and CMOS cameras. Much like the H-alpha 20nm filter, the O-III Super-G filter acts as an exceptional high-contrast Green filter for RGB imaging with both mono and colour cameras.
While regular green filters suffer from bad seeing due to air turbulence, this filter's narrow 9nm bandpass lets through much less thermal noise, resulting in sharper images. The wide bandpass compared to typical narrowband filters also makes this filter suitable for use with fast optics, without the need to worry about pre-shifting.
Baader CMOS-Optimized filters - advantages
- Very high contrast due to steep edges of the coating
- Reflex-Blocker coatings to minimize reflections caused by correctors, reducers and other optical elements
- Standardized thickness for maximum possible parfocality - less need to refocus due to different filter thicknesses
- Blackened edges with front-side markings
- Each filter is individually fine-polished and coated with sealed coating edge, preventing moisture ingress
- Life-Coat for hardness and age-resistance, making the filters able to withstand tougher conditions for longer
