Astronomy Specialist
The newly redesigned ZWO M42 filter drawer allows you to manually add a 2" mounted filter to your optical train. This updated design is better sealed than the previous version, so light leaks are no longer a problem with extremely long exposures.
Note: The previous version of the filter holder is not compatible with this V2 filter drawer. Likewise, the V2 filter holder is not backwards compatible with the previous filter drawers.
The included filter holder has a M48 x 0.75 thread for standard 2" filters. Two magnets secure the draw and a grab screw adjusts its tension. The drawer includes a M42 female - M48 male adapter to adapt the drawer to accessories with M48 x 0.75 thread. It has an optical thickness of 21mm.
Note: Thread interface is M42 x 0.75 - full-frame cameras such as the ASI2400/ASI6200 are not compatible, as the free aperture is smaller than the sensor diagonal of 43.3mm. Instead buy the M54 version. The previous filter holder design is not compatible with the new drawer.

Very well made and sits in the optical train very nicely, changing out filters is a breeze.
This seems to work well. Just enough tension from the magnets to hold the filter in place even when upside down and not too fiddly to get the filter holder in and out. I have been using it to hold a 1 1/4 Astronomik UHC filter in place in front of the ASI294mc pro (with the 1 1/4" adapter) to help cut through a bit of the sky glow and reduce a bit of star bloat. I'm finding it to be an essential bit of kit in my image train. Also, I don't notice an vignetting using the 1 1/4" filter in front of the 294mc.
I purchased this draw as a spare for the ZWO filter drawer. A great product. It is so quick and easy to change filters now. The draw just snaps into place and is held there by a magnet. There is absolutely NO light leak. Do yourself a favour and buy one. Testar have excellent customer service and they got it to me faster than the speed of light - well almost.
Excellent product & fantastic service.
