The ToupTek IMX178M Planetary Mono is a 1.25" barrel size planetary camera using the Sony IMX178 CMOS sensor. With a quantum efficiency of >81%, read noise as low as 1.4e- and 2.4µm pixels, the IMX178M is an ideal camera for high resolution imaging of the moon and sun with medium focal length telescopes.
The IMX178M's back-illuminated sensor has good UV and NIR sensitivity, making it possible to use IR-pass filters to cut through the atmosphere and bring out finer details.
The IMX178M is equipped with USB 3.0 connectivity as well as a traditional ST-4 autoguiding interface. Thanks to the high transmission speed of USB 3, the 178C can reach a fast 60FPS at full resolution. The built-in 512MB DDR3 memory ensures reliability over long sequences of high framerate video capture. Its 1.25" barrel design also makes it straightforward to use with most off-axis guiders (OAG not included).
