The ToupTek IMX585C PRO Colour is a cooled astronomy camera using the Sony 4K IMX585 back-illuminated CMOS sensor. With a quantum efficiency of >91%, read noise as low as 0.5e- (in HCG mode) and TEC cooling up to -45°C below ambient, the IMX585C is an excellent deep sky camera for beginners and pros alike.
The ToupTek IMX585C is available either on its own or with the ToupTek M54 filter drawer and Antlia ALP-T light pollution filter.
The camera features small 2.9µm pixels and resolution of 8.29MP, ideal for deep sky imaging with short focal length refractors. Additionally, the high sensitivity to near infrared light, 5Gbps USB 3.0 connectivity and 512MB of DDR3 memory result in a fast 47FPS framerate make this an excellent high-resolution planetary and solar imager.
The ToupTek IMX585C has zero amp glow, even at high gain and over long exposure times. The below image shows two 5-minute exposures at 20°C with different cameras. The ToupTek image on the right shows no visible amp-glow.
The IMX585C features a built-in dew heater around the protective window with 4 levels of adjustable heating power. The camera includes an integrated two port USB 2.0 hub, allowing you to connect guide cameras, electronic focusers, filter wheels and other accessories.
The below sensor analysis graphs illustrate the performance of the camera at full resolution, 12-bit RAW output at -10°C in LCG mode.
In HCG mode, the read noise drops significantly while maintaining high dynamic range and full-well capacity.
