The Takahashi Collimating Scope is designed to collimate Ritchey-Chretien, Dall Kirkham (such as Takahashi's Mewlon series), Newtonian reflectors and even refractors with a focal length longer than 820mm. It combines the ease of use of a traditional Cheshire eyepiece with a 6 x 18mm telescope giving a magnified view.
The Takahashi Collimating Scope is particularly well-suited for large telescopes such as GSO's range of Ritchey-Chretiens and others which have a centre spot on the secondary mirror. For use with Newtonian and Cassegrain designs, the primary mirror must have a centre spot.
Note: the Takahashi Collimating Scope does not come with adapters, but just has a male M36.4 thread on the telescope side. In order to connect it to a 2" drawtube or Clicklock, you will need the following adapters:
