The ZWO ASI183MM PRO is the cooled camera with the smallest pixels, it is ideal for objects with a small size such as planetary nebulae and galaxies.
The ZWO ASI 183MM contains the Sony IMX183 CMOS monochrome sensor which has a diagonal of 15.9mm and a resolution of 20.18 MPx.
The ZWO PRO cameras incorporate a 256MB DDR3 memory buffer that improves data transfer reliability and it minimizes the amp-glow caused by slow data transfer speeds.
The Sony’s back-illuminated Exmor R technology allows to push the ASI183 QE peak to a remarkable 84% (for the monochrome version). In Ha channel, the QE is over 60%.
A higher QE means more of the light is converted into signal. Across the entire visible spectrum, the QE is never below 50%.
The USB 3.0 Port provides 5Gbps bandwidth and lets the camera run at 19fps (12bit, normal mode) or 19fps (10bit, high speed mode) at full resolution (20.18 Megapixels).
The USB 2.0 Hub allows to connect 2 USB controlled accessories such as a filter wheel, a guiding camera or an electronic focuser, reducing the amount of cables that run directly from your computer.
The 2 stages TEC cooling system allows a ΔT of 40°C-45°C below air temperature.
Note: All cooled ZWO cameras require an external power supply of 12V at 3-5A with a 2.1×5.5 mm connector (positive tip).
The dark current of the ASI183 is extremely low, based on our test results.
