The APM 120mm SD ED 45° Binoculars are high quality apochromatic binoculars with FPL-53 doublet lenses and BAK-4 prisms for exceptional views of faint astronomical and terrestrial objects. All optical surfaces are fully broadband multi-coated for high transmission and contrast.
The use of FPL-53 glass objectives result in excellent colour correction and truly apochromatic performance. With 120mm objectives, it is possible to observe faint nebulae and make use of higher magnifications for planetary and Lunar viewing.
The extendable dew shields protect the lenses during long observations and can be used as a light shade during daytime viewing. The binoculars include a tripod mounting connection and a heavy duty carrying handle. The nitrogen-filled housing is weatherproof and made of magnesium alloy for maximum rigidity and lightness.
APM binoculars are designed to provide comfortable focus position with common high-end 1.25" eyepieces such as those by Baader. The interpupillary distance can be adjusted and each eyepiece can be individually focused. Thanks to the standard 1.25" holders, wide-angle eyepieces can be used.
Both 90° and 45° versions are available. Typically 45° is better suited to low altitude astronomical objects and earth observation, with the 90° version providing a more comfortable position for high altitude astronomical objects.
Note: A pair of 24mm Ultra Flatfield eyepieces are included.
